Tips and remedies

Tricks and old secrets for perfect washes and keeping your clothes looking like new.

White

Does your white blouse have some yellow stains? Treat it with a baking soda and lemon emulsion!

Dark clothes

To keep your black, blue, brown, or red clothes from fading when washed in water, add a little white vinegar to the final rinse!

Knitwear

Don't be afraid to machine wash your vintage knitwear, even if it's made of wool or cashmere! Use a delicate cycle at 30°C with a low spin cycle, a little detergent, and no fabric softener! Let it dry flat on a towel.

Mold

Musty smell in your bags, shoes, or fur coats? Air them out, sprinkle some baking soda, and let it soak in!

Suede

To remove dirt and dust from suede bags and shoes, you can use an old toothbrush or a small piece of fine-grit sandpaper.

To remove stains from a suede jacket, you can let a little baking soda or vinegar soak for a few minutes. Brush the stain and dab with a cloth.

Imitation leather

The imitation leather can be washed with water and dried by hanging the item on a hanger.

Skin

To clean your leather jackets, dissolve a drop of neutral soap in warm water, wet a sponge, and wipe the garment. Rinse with water only and dry with a clean cloth.

Leather goods

Regenerate leather goods: just wipe them with a cotton ball soaked in... moisturizing cream!

Folds

Last-minute creases and no iron handy? Hang your garment in the bathroom and run hot water: the steam will remove any wrinkles!
