We are often convinced that the name alone is enough to make an object interesting.
In this case I want to give you at least three reasons besides the name.
Vintage 1980s silk crepe scarf, hand-hemmed, by Chanel with “Gripoix” motif.
First reason: Gripoix is a high-end costume jewelry house founded in the late 19th century in France. Its artisans were the first to use the revolutionary technique of glass enameling to produce high-quality costume jewelry, so much so that over the years the company has been commissioned to work for many renowned fashion houses: Chanel, Lanvin, Givenchy, YSL…just to name a few.
Chanel, in particular, was a great supporter of whimsical, sparkling, colorful and statement costume jewelry.
It is no coincidence that the fashion house that bears her name has dedicated a series of scarves to this accessory.
Second reason: Personally, I love scarves, but I always think they're a flawed accessory. To wear them, they're folded and twisted, preventing you from fully enjoying the design.
With this scarf you don't run this risk: the pattern is arranged all along the edges and in the corners.
In other words: no regrets, the preciousness lies in very few points and just as Coco thought “less is more“.
Third reason: The design is completely different from anything you'd expect to find on a Chanel scarf. No crossed Cs; this is about uniqueness, rarity, and authenticity. Everything else is boring. I said it.
👉🏻Excellent vintage condition. Minor signs of aging, which, honestly, are insignificant compared to the spectacular nature of the item. No holes or loose threads, pure spectacle!!!
