Vintage 1970s wedding dress by Pronuptia Paris “marque d'amour depuis 1958” - the slogan.
The company was founded in 1958 from an intuition of Marie and Henri Micmacher: why not offer young Parisian women ready-to-wear wedding dresses that they could try on and buy, avoiding the long tailoring sessions with the couturier?
At the beginning, Marie herself designed the models, but starting in the 1980s there were important collaborations with Jean Paul Gaultier, Azzedine Alaia and Thierry Mugler.
Since the very beginning, however, all Pronuptia dresses have retained the poetic and slightly retro style.
To you, from Paris with love:
Vintage 70s dress in tone-on-tone striped fabric, sweetheart neckline with cutwork embroidery, balloon sleeves.
Fully lined, it features an underskirt with a stiff tulle ruffle that can be worn separately (and can be used as a romantic skirt).
Zip on the back.
Also included is a small Sangallo lace bag that closes with two drawstrings.
📐Officially size 38 fr, equal to an Italian 42 but fits a little smaller, much more appropriate for a size 40.
Flat measurements: Waist 34cm, shoulders 46 (taking into account that these are small sleeves that can be moved by a few centimetres), side height from armpit to waist 18, chest 40.5, length from centre of neckline to waist 30. Free hip, total length from centre of neckline to bottom 132.
🫧Washing: Wash with water, or even machine wash if desired! Iron with steam or a warm iron, placing a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
💫Perfect for dreamy brides! But it can become a superb formal & party dress if dyed in the color of your choice!
